Natalie Masson, Ph.D.

Hi, I’m Natalie Masson. I’m a clinical psychologist with a passion for helping women on their fertility journey, especially in their 40s.  A few years back, I was there myself.

I learned a lot along the way about longing, obsession, determination, and eventually finding my wholeness.

After my own stastically improbable natural pregnancy at age 45 after 2 miscarriages, I decided to develop psycholgically sophisticated resources to help others who may be on a similar path.

It’s my honor to guide women on what I consider to be a very sacred part of a woman’s journey.

I had found Natalie on YouTube prior to going on the retreat, I really liked her approach and informed stance, it felt hopeful but grounded in reality. I’ve felt annoyed at all those helpful people who say “just relax”, “reduce your stress” as it’s really not that easy, and I felt I was doing all I could with regards to this. However, having been on the retreat I realized the anger, disappointment and shame I felt that my body couldn’t do this, along with the quite subtle pressure I was putting on myself (even though I denied this to myself!) was having such a detrimental effect on me. It was affecting my stress levels, home life and work, let alone my fertility! It felt like a constant round of disappointment that I had to brace myself for each month.   I really feel a shift in wanting to care for my body and myself having completed the retreat, and I feel I’ve been given some tools to do this. It’s also opened my eyes to a number of options, some resonate more than others, but that helps it feel more holistic. Not only this but I’ve learnt a lot about practical things like how to monitor my cycle in a reduced stress approach. The comments from other retreat members really helped, this can feel a lonely journey at times. The relationship section was a little unexpected, which probably shows how much it was needed! Post-Challenge Feedback

After I first offered this 7-day program in September 2019, I really had no idea what the outcome would be.  After the event ended, many women joined my Conceive With Ease fertility coaching program to continue what we started and others just continued what they learned on their own. 

Over the next few weeks, news started trickling in.

I heard about negative pregnancy tests that didn’t feel devastating, which I view as a huge win.  And many positive tests started rolling in, too!  I was surprised and delighted to see some pregnancies happening after 5 years and even 9 years of TTC.   

So naturally I took this as a sign that I should continue offering these programs. Heartwarming announcements like these have continued coming in ever since. 

I did my pregnancy test yesterday, and got a negative but felt ok with that.  The first few months of actively trying I didn’t ‘hate’ the negative, but the last few months they’ve gotten harder and from day 20ish, I’ve been anxious to know the result.  This month, I think thanks to the week of practice, I felt ok about the result and I wasn’t thinking about it every 5 seconds!!

I wanted to say, that my first cycle after the 7 Day Chill Out challenge, we’re pregnant (I’m pregnant?) after 5 months of trying. What we did differently this cycle was we used the BabyDance lube recommended on the Fertility From the Soul website, and I continued my Chill Out Challenge practice every day after the challenge ended.  We were so happy we cried.

So this totally works!  I just took a test today and confirmed that I am pregnant.  My story is we basically started TTC almost 3 years ago…

Chalk another one up on the pregnant list! I too became pregnant during my cycle that started just prior to the Chill Out Challenge! I’ve known for a couple weeks, but we went for a 6 week ultrasound today and actually saw the little peanut and its little heart beating away! I truly believe that Dr Masson’s videos and challenge were a great contributor to our fertility success, along with the acupuncture and naturopathic modalities I’ve been doing. Frequently asked questions…

How long will I have access?

You will have access to all retreat content for one week past the end of the scheduled retreat.  There will be also be a version of the daily practices that you can continue to access beyond the end of this event.  Part of the benefit of the program is the experience of going through it with a group and receiving support along the way, so I encourage you to prioritize going through the program during the first week.

Will this work in my time zone?

There are no live presentations during retreat week, so this program works equally well in all time zones!  Participants come from all over the world.  How cool is that?!  Daily email reminders should arrive in your inbox by 7am in your timezone.  You can then access the daily lesson at whatever time works best in your day. If you miss the content that day, you can catch up later in the week.  All materials will be available for one week past the end of the retreat week. 

When will this be offered again?

The current plan is to offer this program three times a year:  February, June and October.  The are no guarantees, however, so it’s best to enroll during this round if you’re interested in catching this unique group experience.

Do I need to be on Facebook?

None of this program is connected to social media.  I encourage you to actually take a break from social media while you are engaged in this retreat. The distractions are not helpful. Take a break from any fertility-focused research for that matter.  This is a retreat, after all!

What about diversity and inclusiveness?

My hope is that all can feel welcome and supported in this space.  I do my best to listen and respond to feedback so that I can meet you where you are.  Many participants are pursing parenthood without a partner.  There’s diversity in partnerships and gender identity. I cannot guarantee that the language I use will fit every situation as there is so much variety. I encourage interpreting my teachings and messages in whatever way feels most helpful to you.  I also encourage open feedback so that I can continue to evolve my programs to serve a diverse audience.

What if I'm going through IVF?

The practices in this program are designed to help you find a sense of calm no matter what path you’re taking toward getting pregnant.  Decreasing stress can help with IVF, egg retrieval and any other medically assisted approaches.  Many participants have found it helpful to have the support of a calming program while going through IVF.   My suggestion though is to enroll in this program at a time when you anticipate that you can show up for 20-30 minutes each day. Just be mindful of whether you feel you have space to give this program your attention.

Is this program partly a sales pitch?

This 7-day event is designed to be a high value experience that stands alone as a complete series.  After the retreat, you can learn about other programs I offer, including a fertility coaching program for those who would like to go further on this path.  There will be no “sales pitch” during the 7-day retreat.  I want you to be fully immersed in your present experience of dialing down stress each of the 7 days of this program. 

What if I discover this program just isn't for me right now?

No worries.  This isn’t for everyone.  If you find it’s not a fit, please just request a refund.

How much will this increase my chances of conceiving?

I think that this depends on whether stress is a factor that’s inhibiting you from getting pregnant.  I do believe that stress plays a role for many.  I’ve definitely seen cases where someone has been trying for a long time (1-2 years, and even much longer) and got pregnant very soon after engaging in this program. 

When it comes to egg quality, stress can play a role in the power of mitochondria which is involved in helping the egg mature properly.  So I do believe that decreasing stress can ultimately lead to better quality eggs, which is very important as we get older.

I also believe that finding your calm place inside will help you be more strategic and intuitive as you explore next steps on this path.  So there are many ways that decreasing stress can help you move toward your goal of conceiving.
